My first experience with tone and voice was for the sports section of the University of Tampa's student newspaper, The Minaret. Beginning my freshman year, I began telling stories about UTampa’s athletes and gathering quotes from players and coaches to make them more compelling.

The next year, I became the sports editor, where I used Adobe InDesign to edit the layout for the weekly publication. Plus, I published the articles on the website with WordPress.

Below, you’ll find two stories and a front-page design I collaborated on with the editorial team. The design’s hero story was when the school’s baseball team defeated the Philadelphia Phillies in 2015.
